Ramar Pillai, who once again announced that he will produce herbal gasoline (Mooligai Petrol), was arrested in Egmore, Chennai. Ramar Pillai has created a big thriller in Tamil Nadu saying he has been producing petrol since 1996. Scientists do not accept that discovery. Furthermore, the CBI court in Egmore has filed a case against five persons R. Venudevi, S. Chinnasamy, R. Rajasegaran and S.K. Bharat including Ramar Pillai, claiming that they are cheated and also stated they contaminated in the Herbal gasoline.
According to the CBI, during the years 1999 and 2000, Ramar Pillai and his team were invented ‘herbal fuel’ for all vehicles, and CBI accused that they mixed petroleum products and marketed the same in the name of “Mooligai Petrol” as if it were extracted from herbs.
The “herbal fuel” was sold as automobile fuel. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fuel was merely a mixture of prohibited petroleum products.
Besides, the case was filed for allegedly cheating Rs.2.27 crore by producing herbal gasoline. In this case, the sentence of 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 6,000 were imposed. In this case, Ramar Pillai has been arrested in Chennai for announcing the production of herbal petrol. Following his announcement on Independence Day, the police arrested Rama Pillai in Nollampur in Chennai and continued to investigate him.
A case was registered under Sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 7 (1) of the Essential Commodities Act and Motor Spirit and High-Speed Diesel regulation, distribution, and prevention of malpractices order.
