Jodhpur court has sentenced Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan to 5-years jail time period in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, at the same time the other actors — Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan, and Neelam Kothari — have been acquitted. Salman will need to spend the night time in Jodhpur jail as his bail hearing in sessions court has been posted for tomorrow. He also spent 18 days in this same jail in 1998, 2006, and 2007.
The Bishnoi Sabha, a community which is dedicated to protecting the blackbucks, has determined to appeal against other acquittals. Salman Khan was accused of killing two blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur in the midnight of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Bishnois have been fighting against Salman Khan for nearly 20 years and have never given up. After all the efforts and fights of Bishnois, Salman has been convicted under section 51 of the natural world (protection) Act, which consists of most punishment of six years and minimum 1-year prison time period.
In 2015, Salman Khan has been charged for hitting some people who sleep on a pavement in Mumbai with his car. He also killed one of them. But he has escaped from that case.
