Apollo Hospital Bill Rs 1.17 crores spent on Food for Jayalalithaa:
J.Jayalalitha former chief minister of Tamilnadu, She died two years ago in Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Her death is still a mystery for the whole people of the country. The court has ordered to investigate the mystery involved in this death. There’s a separate team under the Justice Arumughasamy commission for investigating this case. Jayalalitha has stayed in Apollo hospital for 75 days under treatment. Now, Apollo hospital bill has been released.
On Wednesday, Apollo hospital has submitted the bill expenses for Jayalalithaa which costs up to 6 crores and above. There’s an outstanding amount of 44 lakhs need to pay. The total amount in Apollo Hospital bill is 6.86 crores. 1.17 crores are alone spent on food and beverages. Jayalalitha was admitted to hospital on September 22, 2016, 75 days spent on hospital under treatment and she died on December 6, 2016. 6 crore is paid by the AIADMK party and 4o lakhs was paid initially for admitting Jayalalithaa in hospital.
After the hospital was trolled on social media and raised questions on hospital for billing Rs 1.17 crore for food and beverage, By, Thursday apollo hospital officially clarified that the food bill was not only for what was provided to Jayalalithaa but also to ministers, officials, senior party men, police personnel and reporters who had stayed at the hospital during her 75-day hospitalisation.
The Apollo hospital bill had three categories. In the first category, ‘patient bill healthcare services’, the hospital charged Rs 1.92 crore. In the second head, ‘profession charges’, it billed Rs 2.21 crore, including payment of Rs 1.29 crore for Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, which offered physiotherapy services to Jayalalithaa and Rs 92 lakh alone for UK-based expert Dr Richard Beale. Under the third category, ‘room rent/food and beverages/engineering services’, the hospital charged Rs 2.72 crore. These statements are released by Apollo hospital to the investigation commission.
